We’re not painters. We’re not artists. We are makers. We believe that painters, applicators and artists should have the best possible material to work with. We collaborate with people in the field to make their jobs cleaner, easier and ultimately, more satisfying by providing the cleanest, easiest and most satisfying solutions to corrosion, degradation and fouling on both commercial and personal property. Our scientists are constantly researching, evaluating and testing materials using both laboratory and real-world situations in order to provide answers or create products.
Our founders saw the need for specialty coatings that used the latest know-how to provide greener, safer, better protection. Filling a niche is difficult. Many companies don’t survive the long road to bringing new materials to market. Years of research, development and testing make the process expensive and full of uncertainty. But we had the commitment to invest in ourselves, our community and our future. In 2009, we saw the need to rid the world of hexavalent chromium. Used extensively as a corrosion inhibitor, it is one of the toxic heavy metals now on the global list of carcinogens and pollutants. Poisons, toxins and carcinogens can be replaced with modern engineered solutions that better understand alloys and the environment. That is our commitment. To provide active, safe, protection for our modern world.
Meet our founders
Ms Holly Anderson graduated from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) with majors in Spanish and Russian Studies followed by graduate studies in communications and journalism at NDSU. She grew up on crop farm in Minnesota and as manager of that farm has converted much of the operation to certified organic. Anderson worked in marketing, communications and journalism for various non-profits and groups and her commitment to the environment led her to push for better chemical solutions in the coatings industry. Ms Anderson is an active Rotary member and volunteer for ShelterBox USA.
Dr Dante Battocchi received a degree of doctor in materials engineering from the University of Trento, Italy, and a M.S. in polymers and coatings and PhD in materials and nanotechnology from North Dakota State University (NDSU – Fargo, ND). Dr Battocchi teachers corrosion at NDSU and is co-inventor of the first magnesium-based chromium-free primer for aluminum in the world. Dr Battocchi leads all research and development at Elinor as well as corrosion and surface protection consulting for other entities. He previously served as an agent with the Italian State Police.
